I know its a bit early with Cheltenham still going on but i want to know what people think of my selection in the 15:30. The John Smiths Midland Grand National over 4m 1f.

    L'Aventure E/W

Tommorow she will be carrying 10-0 plus Nick Schofield will be taking a 7lb claim off her.

When running over 4m 1f her form figures are 7434.
Three of these 434 have been at uttoxeter in this race.
When 4th in 2005 to Philson Run she was carrying 10-12 with P Brennan
When 3rd in 2006 to GVA Ireland she was carrying 11-7 with L Heard (3)
When 4th in 2007 to Baron Windrush
she was carrying 10-12 with P Merrigan (3)

Nick Schofield rode L'aventure last time out and managed to get her into 3rd over an in adequate trip of 28f and carrying 10-8. She also finished 3rd to Miko De Beauchene who has finished 2nd at Cheltenham this week.

Surely these stats make for good reading and gives her every chance.

Anyone who saw Punchestowns' last run will have him down as a complete banker in the 4:05pm tomorrow, I'm betting the farm on it.

It's a worry that her last win was two and a half years ago but I suppose a place is not out of the question. In the race mentioned she was 3rd to Miko De B but was over 20 lengths behind. The distance would be more important than the placing. She does have a nice weight though and likes the extreme trip so could be running on through beaten horses to grab a place.Wouldn't back her myself so that in itself is a tip to back her!!

I agree the distance is more important than the placing, but if you saw the last race she was in, another furlong or two and she would have caught the winner, she was motoring. Over a longer distance the horses are going to be even more tired and she will run on stronger. Less weight than last time, i had her each way last time as i thought that weight of 10-8 was low for her so 10-0 is really low. Also if you look she only ever runs well at haydock and uttoxeter. Jumping the last she could 6th and still get placed.

L,adventure would probably be nearly favourite after the way she finished the last day but you just dont know what her attitude will be from one race to the next, but i have to agree she looks a very good E/W bet.

Jessica Harringtons Badgerlaw seems to be getting the postive press today. Much tigher odds though.

    Mike.
