    Right Trinity,
What's the deal with this new course, making its premiere sortie in October 2008, how many points are required through the CAO?

I heard also that there are a limited number of places, is this true?

well as far as i know if it's a new course there are no set points.

i think it's just luck on how many people apply and stuff combined with places, same as every other course cept you've no previous years figures to go by.

i do BESS, so presumable this will be called PPES.

    you'll do:
    Economics
    Maths & Stats
    Politics
    Philosophy
    Sociology........in first year

in BESS we do everything there ^^^ except philosophy

this is all my opinion so you'd be wise to ask around....

Economics is interesting but can be tricky, some people who have done it for Leaving Cert are lost, others are not, people who have never done it are equally lost/not lost

Maths is grand if you did Higher LC but people some people who did pass were struggling and others did well.

Stats is hard...well it's just so technical/wordy...when you actually figure out whats going on it's not so bad.

Politics is interesting...a bit basic cos it's first year but interesting all the same.

Sociology is interesting in lectures....weird when you read it...and at the end of the day you felt as if you knew it already!!

any more questions feel free to ask...

"CAO points" only represent the number of points achieved by the final candidate to be offered a place.

That depends on how well you do. I take it you haven't studied Economics yet then? ;)

    Well, obviously.
