Storage for retired emergency vehicle

    Folks,

Bit of an unusual one, but I'm hoping someone might be able to help me out or point me in the right direction. I'm posting here as I know there are others here involved in the vols who may have experienced a similar position themselves, at least in terms of securing storage space.

You see, I'm the owner of an increasingly rare Range Rover ambulance, built back in the mid 70's and registered in 1981 in the UK that's been decomissioned a couple of years back after seeing out its working life with the OM in Foxrock in Dublin. It's in need of a little bit of cosmetic work and the odd mechanical job at this stage - something I can do, just not from outside my rented apartment! :D If anyone knows of any available space in a storage compound or secure yard/workshop for a couple of months, I'd be very grateful for any lead. The cheaper the better, but it would need to be safely out of reach of vandals.

I'd post in the Classic's/Motors sections, but I know from experience that they're in similar positions with their own vehicles of interest. The plan is to rectify some of the damage the elements have done in the past couple of winters and then hopefully take her to a few shows during the summer. Similarly, anyone with a solid lead on a period, late 70's/early 80's Siren control head would be very welcome, as it's the only bit of kit technically scavenged from this great old vehicle. Anyone who may know of this vehicle out there by any chance? It's a 3.5L Rover V8 powered Range Rover Classic with a Wadham Stringer coachbuilt body....

    Ta,

    Gil

Well, I could be well of there....Too lazy to get a torch and go check the sticky residue where the stickers were removed! ;) Is there a SJA brigade/unit (don't know the terminology)?

Is it a 6x6 Range Rover ambulance? They're great.

If you go onto www.policespecials.com and check out the vehicles section in their forum, there is a guy there who's restoring a police Land Rover 90 and has been sourcing all the correct lights, sirens etc so he may be able to help with any bits you want to add.
