in the first part - the second is America's Castle Bravo explosion - 15 megatons

However the question here is do you believe the TSAR bomb led to the bitter winter of 62/3? When it was detonated close to the Artic circle on Russian soil its shockwave went arond the globe 3 times such was its scale. Some years after that were very cold. The ecomentalists would have you believe it is natural - but after watching those clips..........it is obvios that most of that area wont be habitable again. I belive this explosion changed the global climate in 62/3. Not even Krakatoa could have done a better job.

Send a couple of nukes to Adelaide. Some horribly hot weather there at the moment. Might get rid of some of the forest fires.

Don't kid yourself. Krakatoa was four times the size and was allegedly heard halfway around the world. Volcanos also have the added benefit of being plate/mantle eruptions, which trigger earthquakes and tsunamis. They estimate that it reduced global temperature and changed the concentration of atmospheric gases for at least five years afterwards.
