    hi guys,

just like to say that we had our team day out @ hrta today and it was great. most could not have spelled airsoft before arriving on site so it was a triumph to have ppl praise it. a few points to note though:

    1) airsoft MUST be played either completely on the honour system and MARSHALLED or through the pain barrier system . the in-between method we used was bonkers (different ppl have different thresholds etc)

    2) not having an indoor venue for when the hail stones are more painful than the bbs is madness!

all in all a good day though, kudos to paul and his crew

seriously though is there NO way to make a battery last more than ~1000 shots (i can tell you for a FACT that no one out of 16 ppl got more than 1K shots for a single battery )

All depends on the battery, I get around 3000-4000 rounds from a large type. Small type batteries hold less of a charge, they're typically only 1100Mah, compared to 2400Mah+ on large type batteries.

Glad you had a good day, it's even more fun with full kit. ;)

The rentals have been there so long the batteries are probably pretty screwed

that being the case its time to change them. i was the only one with a sidearm (TM g18c aep) and i went through 5 mags during the day as my rifle was dead.
plenty of jams etc too but they could have been user contributed.

no wonder you guys leave your wallets @ the door!!

are there any indoor sites in the dublin region?

The rental batteries are changed at HRTA for new ones. As for the gun jamming and the like, they are rentals and as you are far more likely to have a problem then with something you personally own and personally take good care of.

There's talk of one southside, but it's "playing Nessie" atm ("now you hear about it, now you don't" ;):D).

Re. batteries, a rule of thumb for 'not-brand-new-batteries' is 1 shot per MaH, so that would about tally up with your experience yesterday.

Very glad to hear your colleagues enjoyed it :)

What can I expect to get out an AEG using the stock Chinese 8.4v 1200 or so mAh battery do you reckon?

Not much, clone batteries are the cheapest of the cheap. Try some intellect or firefoxes and keep the stock one as a backup.
