With all this talk of a Lost Boys II (I can't wait, I just really hope against hope that it won't be crap though). I was just wondering what are everyones fav vampire movies.

I love the Lost Boys, didn't like Near Dark as much though. Anyway my fav one is by far Vamp, it's just class, just pissed that it's not available on region 2 (although it was supposed to have been realised by Anchor Bay at one stage but never happened).

The worst vampire movie I've ever seen is Dracula 3000. It's one of those films that are so bad it's funny, so maybe worth a watch just for that plus its got Erika Eleniak (from Baywatch, remember her?) and Coolio as a vampire, wtf!

Cronos is pretty good for a slightly different take on it all.

Don't like Lost Boys, the humour never appealed to me as I prefer serious horror films. With that said though I do love Near Dark. It was probably the first vampire films I saw that portrayed vampires in a different way to the classic Dracula type image. Interview With A Vampire is quite good also. I think Neil Jordan and Brad Pitt in particular did a great job with it. It's not often an epic period film is made that features vampire instead of annoying English aristocrats.

Most recently there was 30 Days of Night which I really enjoyed. I loved the way it portrayed the vampires as an almost different species of animal (going so far as to give them their own language) as opposed to corrupted or cursed humans.

I haven't seen Dracula 3000 but it sounds like the sequel to Dracula 2000, that I did see. Now that was a bad one.

original dracula, i loved it (got it on vhs)
nosferatu was good too, possibly better than ^

modern- interview with the vampire (loved the books when i was 15)
bram stokers dracula (keanu "huh?" reeves et all)
    Lost Boys, just loved it.
Vampire hunter d movie wasnt terrible (bit cliched, actually very)
love queen of the damned (again anne rice fan) the film very nearly totally ignores the books, but i really liked stuart townsend as the angry rocker lestat.

hmmm, must think about it more, will return with more

Dracula 300 has nothing to do with Dracula 2000. There are two sequels to 2000 and surprisingly enough they are very good. It's one story over two films and for the most part it avoids all the cliches and gives us a thoroughly entertaining romp.

I'm more into the action vamp films

    Blade
    30 Days of Night
    Underworld
    Versus [japanese, savage]
Blood the last Vampire [animé, bein made into a live action film, yayyyyy]
    Dusk til Dawn

    More horrory ones:
    Near Dark
    Innocent Blood
    Lost Boys

The Hunger, with david bowie was artsy, and pretty well put together.

I always liked Nosferatu, the one with Klaus Kinski I think. Very gothic.

Nosferatu. The original and best. Was never beaten in terms of the vampire and atmosphere and actual creepiness/horror.

Near Dark was a decent contemporary look at the vampire concept, with John Carpenters Vampires and From Dusk till dawn making ground at the rear. Hammer's first Dracula is also worth a mention.

Martin is very good (not exactly a 'vampire' film, but close enough)
Frostbite is okay, but I preferred 30 Days of Night
I like Cronos and Salem's Lot too.

The Forsaken (I think it's also called Desert Vampires) is dreadful. Avoid it.

Ive always enjoyed The Forsaken. It at least tries to bring something remotely new to the equation, even if the film is basically Dawson's Creek with fangs. Yet I still find myself rewatching it every year or so.
