hi there. I am looking for some advice and guidance about holidaying around lake constance. We are planning to fly into Freidrichschafen in July and are going to book accomodation separately. But where? And what type? We are open to any suggestions and ideally would like to spend 3 nights at a time in different areas.
We are planning to hire a car if needed but may be ok on public transport as I believe the rail system is excellent.

Our children are aged 7 and 8 so we are quiet mobile and are interested in outdoor activities. Has anyone any idea what the weather is usually like at this time of year?

    Any advice would be great.

Well weather in summertime in and around Friedrichshafen is usually about the mid twenties I think. You'll often get a very brief rain shower but generally it's fairly pleasant and sunny.

You could definitely survive on public transport, depends on where exactly you want to go I suppose. There's a train platform literally outside the entrance of Friedrichshafen airport - as in closer than the carpark shuttle buses from the enterance of Dublin Airport! There're plenty of ferries crossing the lake as well.

Renting houses/apartments would be my recommendation although it might be a bit more difficult to do it 3 nights at a time during the summer season. Would recommend going kayaking on the lake too!

Thanks for that Base, we also had a look at camper van and way way too expensive. Actually the min is 14 nights in peak season and we were only looking for about 7 nights. I do think you may be right about the 3 night stays. It may be hard in peak season. thanks anyway.
