Need a PSG-1 Barrel. Stock inner dia. Where would be the cheapest place inc. shipping? Already spending f08k loads on the HBAR so price is a big deal.

    Cheers,
    Lethal.

The psg1 barrel wont work in a gun that does not have a bore up kit.

According to Hedganian (All he has is augs) a PSG barrel fits the HBAR.

It will work, you still have a 20% volume surplus afaik, but there is negligible back pressure, meaning velocity is down on an m16 barrel.

But, I wonder what the velocity at the end of the outer barrel would be affected by a psg1 and an m16 barrel, which would be higher.

Its nothing to do with it not fitting its that there is not enough air in the cylinder to proppel it out the barrel. That said the HBAR might fix that.

Stupid lethal...somehow I completely misread your post. It does mention an "adaptor" and hedg doesn't mention anything about gearox upgrades in the guide he wrote. Shouldn't be too much of a problem anyways as CA Augs are right on the limit in the first place.

liamo's right lethal, although theres a little more to it., with a longer barrel the BB can still be in the barrel when the piston is travelling backwards on its cycle, this makes a suction and can slow the BB down or even stop it from getting out altogether.,:)

A standard v3 with a psg1 barrel does work, but only at regular rof set-ups.

A ventilated piston head negates the suck-back slightly, but it can and is done.
I know of people who have done it on arnies, but higher rof, I dunno.

I'm soon venturing into this territory myself.

I use a 630mm barrel on my RPK - full cylinder and it seems to be handing ok.

    Where'd you get a 630mm?

I got it wholesale, but most HK suppliers should do them. Mines a Prometheus.

    690mm minus 60mm

Was thinking of upping to a 9.6 at some stage. Would that be likely to push the RPM too high? Its pretty decent as it is.

Yeah, you can just get a bigger one and cut it to size - and then round the edge of it.

What's the max barrel length without a bore up kit?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 589 ✭✭✭Beast ASI

    Don't get a bore-up kit, they're really only for 400+fps

Won't make much of a difference at this fps level.

Cheers Beast. That should keep the price down:D

Wasn't considering it. So you don't need a bore up at low fps?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 589 ✭✭✭Beast ASI

Nope, don't really need to replace the cylinder head/cylinder/air nozzle unless you've got a leak somewhere or need to change the cylinder for barrels e.t.c

Nope, I've had a bore-up before actually decrease my fps.
