I got an email from eircom offering a free PC health check (provided by Support Soft Inc). So downloaded file, installed program and then ran scan.

Is this a recognized software scan that can be trusted? Anyone used it?

There is a Hardware assessment which reports that all is fine.

The security assessment is not optional as windows Defender is not set. Should I set this?

The performance assessment reported 34 settings that can be changed:

The Recycle Bin size should be configured.
Windows Mail Splash Screen should be removed.
Invalid shortcuts should be cleaned up.
Internet Explorer cookies should be deleted.
The simultaneous downloads should be optimised.
The MS Office set up files should be cleared.
The Network Access Protection Agent Service should be disabled.
The Internet Explorer cache size should be optimised.
The Microsoft iSCSI Initiator Service should be disabled.
The SNMP Trap Service should be disabled.
The Firefox cache should be cleared.
The WinHTTP Web Proxy Auto Discovery Service should be disabled.
The Error Reporting Service should be disabled.
The Problem Reports and Solutions Control Panel Support Service should be disabled.
The Diagnostic Policy Service should be set to manual start.
The Diagnostic Service Host should be disabled.
The Internet Connection Sharing Service is currently set to enable.
The temporary files should be cleared from all user profiles.
The Firefox cache size should be optimised.
The Distributed Link Tracking Client Service should be set to manual.
This service can be set to manual start since there is no use for this service on a home network.
The Script Debugger should be disabled.
The Link-Layer Topology Discovery Mapper Service should be disabled.
The DFS Replication Service should be disabled.
The critical Microsoft Windows Vista services should be set to their default values.
The Firefox website certificate setting should be configured.
    Firefox cookies should be deleted.
The Firefox password retention feature should be disabled.
The Internet Explorer History should be cleared.
    Terminal Services should be disabled.
The Remote Registry Service should be disabled.
The Remote Registry Service is currently set to enable.
The Browser Auto Complete Form should be cleared.
The Firefox History should be cleared.

A brief description is given with each option but not how to enable/disable each option.

Should I carry out all the changes and if so could anyone help me find the appropiate settings as recommended by the scan.
