OK. It's like this. DENMAN will not win the Gold Cup.

If he does... The above tournament will be rake-free.

Mike Dillon (also Ladbrokes) reckons he might...

He's a more powerful individual - he's a bigger, stronger horse than Kauto Star - and the fact he can go at such a high cruising speed is a massive weapon in his armoury.

He jumps very well and if he makes a semblance of a mistake he just brushes through an obstacle - he never looks like falling

He forgot to mention he is not as fast or proven against all-aged company of the highest calibre. ...Unless you consider The Listener or Mossbank top-class.

People simply get too carried away with hype. They believe what they are told. Master Minded could not win because he was a five-year-old and five-year-olds don't win Champion Chases.

Ummm... Hello. How many five-year-olds have ever run in the race? Like none until the French taught us it was not all bad to run horses so young over chase fences.

You have to go with the facts ..like Voy Por Ustedes was given a running lesson (by Master Minded) last month at Newbury and there was no reason at all why that form should be turned around.

Similarly Denman has been beating trees and while I could see him chase home Kauto Star, if the defending champ jumps, he wins. He is a class apart.

    Lesson over.

Free Pint for every player (on Saturday) added to the €20 reg back if Denman wins.

VC gave me 66/1 for a chunk and 40/1 for some more just yesterday. Should be able to trade out by July if all goes to plan although 33/1 is the best available now so margin tightening. How can the betting be right when the first and third in the market - one a 2/5 shot - both say they will not be going for the champonship!

Good news, we created a Irish Open ticket, bad news ..the winner was already in. Good night though, the place was packed (well the room we played in was!).

Full steam ahead for the two satellites we are staging for the Party Poker World Open. Those are on Monday March 31st and Monday April 7th with a €250 (+ €25 reg) entry fee. We have a couple of special celeb guests from the sporting world coming along and taking part.

The World Open is filmed in London and broadcast around the world - it has a $250,000 first prize.

Our satellite packages include flights and a complimentary hotel room - satellite winners will be playing on Tuesday 29th April.

Hope to see you all then

The card room above the bar ...or the club above the pub!
