Ii feel a bit self obsessed posting more updates here but some folks have asked me to keep them updated.

Still off the drink - it will be 7 months on Saturday, one day at a time. Have had some bad cravings this month but have managed to get over them. Again, i cant stress enough how fantastic AA has been to me. It is great to be able to talk to people in the same position and to get advice.

In relation to losing my job. Iv got a new job in Dublin. It isnt ideal as it will mean relocating, which i am very slow to do but it is a good short term measure. Have an interview in Limerick next week, whih is at least closer to home so fingers crossed. I found it very difficult to be without a job but i have been lucky in that i have been busy with interviews and got some part time lecturing work. One thing i would say to anyone job hunting is that recruitment crowds are good but you have to go out and ring people yourself and chase stuff up. It isnt enough to register with recruiters and presume that they will do everything for you.

In relation to my partner, he is doing well. He is seeing a psych and a counsellor and it seems to be helping him. There have been no bad bouts of depression or binges ( apart from one night) since Christmas. Im worried about relocating cos i know that we will find it hard to be apart but we want to spend the rest of our lives together so we shouold be able to get over a few months apart. Hopefully anyway. He still jokes about me being pregnant a bit but im getting to see it as just a joke, for the moment anyway.

I want to say thanks to everyone who Pmed me with advicfe and good wishes, esp the person who put me intouch with recruiters in Dublin. It means alot.

    X

Well done! Great to hear. As you said, take it one day at a time. Each day is worthy of an applause in its self, and you've done alot better than that.

I wouldnt worry to much about the relocation for the time being. It will give you some form of base again to work from. Its easier to get another job from a job anyway.
