update: this also gives you the option to partition your hard disk for ps2 titles that utilized the hard disk,on that not im installing it and my hdloader ps2 might work again but im doubting it highly

Theres an i.Load program that is supposed to come out on the 23rd of march. They say it wont work with 2.17.

ETA: Most likely very very fake.

a method for running pirated games most likely.

People will say. No it's for backups but that's a load of crap.

So its not something that you'd really need then

nope, especially with ps3 games all being region free.

Yes indeedy. But if the method that they are proposing in this probably fake project is corrent, an eboot (similar to the PSPs) will skip, patch or bypass verification. Which opens the door to homebrew.

This is the filesystem of this "project" Notice the eboot.

what homebrew do you need on the ps3 though? It already has divx support and you can even load linux on it freely.

Homebrew games and ports would be nice. Anything with full access to the graphics hardware would be great. ATM linux lacks this.

Id really like to see what people could come up with.

its not a case of what do we need, its a case of what will people come up with

So far all i've seen them come up with on the psp and xbox (2 best examples of properly cracked systems to allow homebrew) are iso/game loaders, media centres and emulators. I haven't seen or heard of any "indie" games that are amazing for either.

isnt there an extremely strong dreamcast homebrew scene?

I know that there have been a couple of non-official games released alright but haven't heard much about them.

If you look at some of the great PSN games out there, Cell Factor, Everyday Shooter, Stardust HD etc, many of the could be quite easily created by homebrewers.
