Question Regarding Express Card Slots

    Hi,

    My question is quite simple really, I made the mistake yesterday of purchasing a PCMCIA Wireless Card for a Laptop (Dell Inspiron 6400) which does not have a wireless card.

    This Laptop, as all new laptops (as I discovered last night) has a Express Card slot. I have looked up Elara & Komplett, but connot find any Wireless Express Cards as being listed,

    Please help me, am I going blind, that I cannot see them anywhere????

    OK, just found the item I'm looking for, but I'm still confused.

    For the Laptop do I require a Wireless 'Express Card' i.e.;

    http://elara.ie/products/detailsfullat.asp?productcode=ECE1436437#spec

    or do I require the Wireless 'Card Bus' i.e;

    http://elara.ie/products/detailsfullat.asp?productcode=MME0866539#spec

    I think half the problem is that the images shown on the site are indicative only and do not show what the item actually looks like.

    Many thanks in advance,

    Auslander

    Card bus is another name for pcmcia so that's the second one out. The first one should be right. You can also get usb wireless adapters.

    If you want to continue using old PCMCIA devices in expresscard slots:

    look around for a lower price: that was just a snap-google

    Thanks AC,

    I'm looking for a wireless device that won't protrude or interfere with the portability of the laptop. This is why I've elected to got for the express card over the bulky usb wireless, that is unless you know of a good slimline usb wireless adapter that does not protrude?

    Im going to post an ad in the wanted section of adverts to see if I have any joy. Thanks for taking the time to reply to my question.

    Regards

    Auslander
