    Hey all

Just wondering if you can recommend me some headphones for my Ipod Video. I was going to just going to buy the originals that came with the ipod in the beginning, I didnt get a chance to make much of an impression with these as I lost them, replaced them with a cheap crappy pair which are now broken also.
I was on Apples site to have a look and there arent great reviews on the standard headphones that come with the ipod so just wondering would ye have any recommendations for me...Thanks
    Tx

    Sennheiser CX300!
Look around though, as they are quite overpriced in a lot of shops. I got some in Soundstore for €40.

I have a pair of the sony gel ones, and I have to say they're amazing, I listen to my music really loud (I've blew the bass in the original apple headphones from both my ipods) and these are great, sound is great and all, they're only about €15 max!

I use a pair of Shure E2C's. They're the cheapest in ear headphones in the Shure range. They act like earplugs so they go right in your ear which blocks out external sounds so great for waiting at a bus stop, on the train, nitelink, etc. They've been updated to Shure SCL2 and you should be able to pick them up on ebay for around 45e. Great sound quality as well, especially the bass which is rare. The Sennheiser CX300 are quite good headphones and a bit cheaper too. But not in-ear to the extent the Shures are.

Whatever you do, do not buy any apple branded ear phones, they all break. I had the in-ear ones and after 6 months they just stopped working. That is all I can say

Is there a problem with fakes of stuff like this on eBay? I know there's a lot of counterfeit CX300s doing the rounds, then again they're probably much more common headphones...

Used to be a big cx300 fan but just got a pair of cx500s and I'm loving them. The bass is less muddy.

You can get cx300's for 10e on ebay. Will these deffo be fake?????If so where would i get the real ones cheapest??I just got an ipod classic and i have to say the apple ones with it are totaly USELESS.No bass AT ALL.I'm using my 2 year-old JVC ones(bout 12 euro i think) now and there much better.Would the cx300's really sound a lot better????

Depends what JVC's they are.. if they are the JVC Marshmallows then the CX300's probably won't be better...

I got them in argos for 12 euro and the sound really impressed me when i got them first.I think they are called JVC "gummy".All i'm looking for really are the best earphones i can get for under about 40euro.Lots of people seem to have the cx300's

Fake CX300s are quite common on eBay - I doubt they're real at that price. The cheapest real ones I've seen in town were €40 in Soundstore (there's one in Cork somewhere too). Maplin wanted €65 or something insane! Dunno if you could save much buying online with delivery charges. You can get them in black, white or silver usually.

They should sound better than those JVC yokes. I found them better than my Sony MDR-EX71s, and a lot of shops charge even more for those than the CX300s.

Only bad points are the asymmetric cables (like Sony headphones the wire's designed to go around the back of your neck), and it takes a while getting used to them - but that's the same for any headphones that go right in your ears like that.

Yeah, I know those gummy's..they're better than stock earphones but the CX300 would be better still..... for a sub €40 set of buds you should check out the JVC marshmallows..you can buy them in currys or dixons for under €20...they take a few days to adapt to though...great value for money and at their price are more worthwhile than CX300's
