Can anyone tell me how I can select text from a Adobe Reader document and paste it into a word document. When I right click on the mouse it say's that it can allow the hand tool to select text but it does not work when I try it. I would appreciate any advice on the matter. Thanks.

    Open the document.
Click File / Properties / Security

Under Document Restrictions Summary check whether content copying is allowed.

If not then the creator does not want you copying the contents of the pdf.
The other possibility is that the PDF could be made from images of text, in which case you need to use OCR software to grab the text. Some packages like Omnipage will allow you to carry out this directly, without rescanning as an image.
