Well, adding a civilian version of an "assault rifle" (Steyr's words - not mine) should be no bother to a guy with your collection :D - which at last count was:
    Remy .220 Swift, Tikka T-3 on order, Sig 9mm on order :D Oh, and I forgot - a 6.5 x 55

Bearing in mind the T3 is in .300 win mag. I believe that piece of information really adds to the tally. :p

Aren't we allowed semi-auto centerfire here in Ireland subject to Super's approval? Surely you can just get a semi version as opposed to this one that needs to be cocked each time?
How many of the restricted categories would this fall into under our new rules??

    2 or 3.
    • "assault rifle"
    • "bullpup rifle"
    • centre-fire rifle under 90cm (although this only counts for rifles that aren't assault rifles or bullpup rifles so I don't know should it count)

try for the semi. Why not? At least if you get turned down you can always say "well if I cant have the semi, ill meet you half way and get the straight pull":D

I saw on the TV where there was a goat cull on a spanish Island. They were using a helicopter and the shooter was using a semi auto. Showed him taking out 2 and 3 at a time. One shot each. POP POP POP and 3 dead goats. Great shooting from the air and very fast.

Restricted is restricted so it really doesn't matter. Pick one :D

The Aug semi auto is quite popular in Europe as an IPSC rifle. Very quick to index at closer & mid range targets. A little awkward though for mag changes but with practice you could get it perfected.
