Turnips - any ideas

I've got two big turnips in the fridge giving me a guilt trip every time I reach past them for some other vegetable. But I just don't know what to do with them. I've tried steamed, roasted, and a curry from the new Dennis Cotter book, which was only OK (the curry, that is). Does anyone have any other ideas?

    Turnip and Apple soup.

    2 turnips - chopped
    1 cooking apple - chopped
    1 onion - chopped

Fry in a little cooking oil the turnip and onion.
    Throw in the apple.
    one pint of veg stock
    salt and black pepper
    cook for 20 mins
add half pint of milk and chopped parsley.

    Pop in blender.

    Damn tasty.
