TV tuner recommendation?

Wondering does anyone have any recommendations for a tv tuner for a laptop. It's basically needed for occasional use (Champions league on late shift etc.) I've had a look at maplins and komplett and while there's a good enough selection, I don't know if I'd be paying for features and functionality or the makers name. Any experiences or avoidances would be welcome.

"haupage usb pvr" is the only usb tuner i know that supports mce/vmc.
if your not using it with media centre, you cant really go wrong with a cheapo usb tuner.
youll be receiving analog terrestrail i presume so the picture wont be great anyway ;)

I'd recommend the Hauppauge PVR USB 2.0 tuner too, especially if you have a PC with a weaker CPU, as the tuner will do all the processing rather than offload it to the CPU.

There are others, like the Terratec Cinergy PVR 800e which is the same thing as the Eye TV 250 on the Mac - have one of these two but I wouldn't recommend it as much as the Hauppauge, it needs a much stronger signal fed into it.

Finally, if you have a dual core CPU or any powerful CPU, you could consider the Hauppauge HVR 900, which is the size of a large USB stick, has analog and digital tuners and works in MCE with a patch you can download from Hauppauge directly:
