hey guys does anyone have any idea of the numbers their expecting for this side event? anyone know how many chips is in the starting stack?

Was talking to someone last night (a boardsie) and they said it was 2K + 2K starting stack,,,, very poor imo....

Can't confirm because of bleed*in sonic firewall protection in work....

starting stacks for these events and ept etc are always a joke. structures are bad but they are part of the festival line up. they will get huge numbers and will be a very tasty prizepool. run well and its great value. if you want a poker tournament with some playability head into town or to one of big slick's events.

Chances are it will be bad value and structure anyhow given past IO side events.

I just checked the Irish open website. It's 2K+2K with a 25min clock.

75 / 150 (need to take top up after this level if it has not been used already)

The structure is crapshooty no doubt. But I guess it will fill and the field will be uber soft as it will be full of the drunk; the disinterested; and the gormless taking their shot at "the big one". If you have a good idea of shoving ranges and play a short stack well you should play.

The 1,5k is 7k starting with 45 min levels. Girls event is 5k starting with 30 min levels.

Girls has same blind structure as the scalps; whereas the 1.5k repeats a level with the introduction of the antes and also has the 500 / 1000 level.

there's no repeat of 150 300 25 in this game or no 500 1000

thanks for that guys... i'm not to inpressed with the structure but i've got a ticket to it anyway so just gonna have to play it i suppose... i'd reckon there will be a few big names in it though, its on the same day as the final table so i guess if people get knocked out of the main and want to hang around to see the final they'll prob play this

Correct, it will be the first ever double chance scalps tournament to be held anywhere. (according to pokernews)

take the extra 2k after the 1st hand...
The idea of scalps will be a major action builder for a lot who wont see the hamr of putting a €300 stack in danger to draw to a 3 outer or whatever for a €30 scalp

Take the top up immediately. Consider yourself shortstacked from the get go. After 25 mins you will only have 40BBs. Therefore, avoid giving away "easy chips" from the beginning. You should only be looking to play a hand if:

- You are willing to get the whole loot in for value;
- You are willing to get the whole loot in to take someone off their hand and win without showdown;

You don't get to relax into this sort of competition. You should be looking for a spot to get all - in right from the start. Then look to do it again etc. Get all - in with an edge repeatadly and run good.

This is almost the same as the fitz DC on Tuesday(20mins there but I think it's 5k total) go and practice there, The standard will prob be the same.
