    Hi all,
This is a bit of a weird problem...
I have a Nokia N73 on the 3 network. As soon as I power on the Phone I get a "New voice message" message and the voice mail icon appears on the top right of my screen.
This icon stays there all the time and never disappears, so it always looks like I have a voicemail.....
I have tried my sim in different phones and I still get the same problem, so it's not the N73 itself.

I've done some web research and it seems that this was a know problem on the Orange network in the UK and the solution was to put the sim in another phone and leave yourself a message, then delete is as detailed here
Anyhow, that doesn't work either (I tried on a sim free Nokia N95 and a 3 network locked Nokia 6500)
I have also uupgraded my Firmware to the N73 Music Edition.

The number I have was ported from the meteor network to 3 and I'm pretty sure there was a voicemail message I hadn't received before the port completed.

Could the problem I have be something like this :
Could it be that when the phone turns on it still registers initially on meteor who send me the new message notification, and then "redirects" to 3 ?
Or how does this work ? (Or I am talking total crap) ?

I already tried calling meteor customer service and 3 customer service.
Meteor basically told me to sod off as I'm not a customer any more, and 3 checked my account and said I have no voice mail and they can't understand it.
Of course it may have just been the person I was talking to at the time and I'm gonna give them both another call and see if it yields any results.

So - does anyone have any ideas ?

    Thanks !

I think your Meteor theory is likely. However as you are now on the 3 network it is definitely their infrastructure sending the alert on to you so it's up to them to fix it even if they have to go back to Meteor. If they don't, grab an incident report number from them and pass it on to COMREG.

you could try sending an Indicator control SMS via PanuWorld FlashMSG to remove the voice_mail icon and see if that helps.

why don't you try the following.

Turn your mobile off. From another phone ring your mobile & leave yourself a voice message. Turn your mobile back on, wait for the notification of voice message and then check it. See will that work. If it does not work then it probably proves your own theory.

    worth trying maybe?
