Can I use VOIP over a mobile bb connection?

    I have an 02 mobile broadband modem, which works well, but is VOIP possible with it?

    I'm new to this entire area, so any help or pointers would be appreciated.

    The speeds that O2 (and the other networks that have 3G networks) claim for their mobile BB services are capable of streaming VoIP, but there are other factors which influence VoIP quality (more so than regular surfing) and they are more likely to be inferior when using mobile BB (or many other wireless ISP services) - this isn't to say that VoIP never works with wireless ISPs, it's just that it is more likely to give problems.

    You could test your service for VoIP suitability at http://myvoipspeed.visualware.com/ - bear in mind that the results will depend on the coverage at your location, so test it where you will want to use it. Also, if there are a lot of people using the O2 mobile BB in that cell, your results will suffer, so bear the time of day in mind too.
