    Hey,

Just posting a notice to tell you that Vaticon XIV will be taking place from the 4th to the 6th of April this year.

Admission to the con is €5 for a day, €8 for the weekend. Entry to events is free, unless they cost us something to run.

The 4th is a Friday, and will consist of an all night LAN. If you're interested in participating, please email us (ucdgamesoc at gmail dot com) to sign up. The cost is as yet undetermined, and we're trying to keep it as low as possible, but it will be partly down to predicted attendance, so if you're interested, sign up early.

The Saturday and Sunday will feature a mixture of RPGs, LARPs, CCGs events, Wargames and Video Games.

Further details are available here: http://www.vaticon.net

    Hope to see you there,

    Philip Harney,
    Con Director,
    Vaticon XIV

is there a certain age you must be to Participate im 15 and the rubber sword lrping to you have to have your own weapon or can you rent one there or something like that

Can't answer the first question, but I can answer the second. A couple of the guys involved have small armories of their own and are more then happy to loan out weapons to people who don't have their own, provided people are careful with them and follow the few basic instructions that people will be given before the event starts.

The rules, or as much as you need to know, will be explained to you on the day. I'm not entirely sure about the age thing, but I can probably have an answer for you by this time tomorrow. There are hit points to each location on the body: Head, L.Arm, R.Arm, Torso, L.Leg, R.Leg.

There will also be non-rubber sword LARPs which I highly recommend. Well, I highly recommend everything really. But I would.

No, we haven't got the nationals this year. I honestly have no idea where they're happening. But come anyway. It's going to be great fun.

There's a timetable for the con on the website. According to it the Pirate LRP will be at 3pm on Sunday. I advise getting there earlier though, in order to get a ticket before it books out, and generally just to get ready.

Thanks, but I'll probably give it a miss.

As regards the age issue, the LARP coordinator has told me that it's judged somewhat case by case, but 15 would be around the lowest considered.

If anyone would be interested in running extra tables of any of the RPGs at Vaticon, drop me an email at r4phael [at] gmail.com, or a PM here. Some form of reimbursement will be made available to GMs, depending on what I can talk the con director into.
