    Make a CV
    Print one out
And drop into the shops you would like to work in and leave you cv

Don't be picky. Most real shops won't want someone as young as you. Any shops will usually want over 18 year olds. Tesco, Dunnes, Supervalu etc. may be your best bet especially if you have no prior experience. Just hand CVs out everywhere.

Is there a reason that you dont call into the places you want to work in? Are you shy?

But having the confidence to go in and ask for the manager would make a better first impression, than just banging an email in to them through email or what ever. I suggest printing out a load of CV's and hitting the pavement.

I cant see why you would want to work in the city centre and load yourself with all that extra travelling especially if you are just looking for part time retail job.
