It's out of season now, but you'll be able to get farmed or imported stuff throughout the year, and wild game in specialty butchers from next winter. I think one needs a game dealer's licence to sell game. One of the rangers will be along to correct me on that if I'm wrong. You can get rabbit all year round actually. Perhaps try get any friends who might be popping bunnies to throw you a few? Or even ask around?

A company called Wild Irish Game supply rabbit, duck, pheasant, venison etc. They are located in wicklow and supply a lot of butchers in wicklow dublin area and maybe more. The owner is family so get venison etc fairly often.

You can pick up venison in supermarkets easily. The season is over (mostly) but should still be stocked. Quail is also available (which is top notch, tried it first time last month)

Others available too, not more exotic meat than game

Seen Rabbit for sale in a few supermarkets, usually the ones with good foreign food sections.
Farmed rabbit seems to taste different though, not sure if it's diet, breed or something else.

Tesco does fairly good farmed venison all year round. Nothing compares to filling your own plate though, be it trout, salmon, pigeon, rabbit.....

Talking to a lad today and he told me he has seen rabbit in a butchers shop at €15 each

Surely there's some restrictions on anyone at all going out selling game meat, considering all the red tape and blue cards ;) that the farmers are forced to go through for traceability.
