My favourite optician

As someone who has been seeing various specialists about her eyesight since she was 3 weeks old I never felt completely looked after when it came to my eyesight. I never had my eye condition fully explained, just knew enough to explain it to teachers etc. I obviously knew myself what my limitations were etc, but never had a doctor/optician who could deal with my questions appropriately. I attended Temple Street from 3 weeks of age 'til I was 16 as an out patient.

I then heard about Nolke Opticians (Formerly Adrkeen opticians) in Waterford where the proprietor was incredibly interested and willing to take the time to look after his customers well. I'm based in Kildare, but decided to check it out for myself. I'd heard of the huge difference his help and willingness to try new things with and for his customers had made to the lives of some people with vision impairments similar and more serious than my own.

I never felt more clear about what my eye condition meant for me and what was causing various issues etc. The optician spent so much time doing an eye exam, checking various lenses and explaining things to me. For the first time in my life I knew exactly what was wrong with my eyesight. I wanted to get contact lenses for sport and he was incredibly helpful. He suggested I try a tinted Nike lense and I found them fantastic, my eye condition is too complicated to get perfect prescription to suit my sight, however even the very slight difference made to my game by these lenses meant a huge amount to me. They're due to be discontinued soon unfortunately, but today I managed to order loads more pairs so should be set up for a while, so I'm delighted!

I also got two great pairs of specs there too and with a new and better prescription and I have never been happier with glasses than I am now.

I felt really well looked after and have been determined to spread the word about this wonderful opticians. Was well worth the trip down from home.

Anyway, just felt the need to share my good experience.
