DPT closed at the moment due to a tyre of a truck catching fire.

HGV city ban has just been lifted.

Presumably reports are collated following each 'emergency' incident within the tunnel. Am I correct on this and if so, are they made public?

The Dublin Port Tunnel has been temporarily closed to all traffic after a truck caught fire in the facility this afternoon.

The HGV ban in the city centre was lifted shortly after the closure, which happened at around 12.30pm.

The emergency services are at the scene, but no injuries have been reported.

The tunnel was not expected to remain closed for long, but motorists are being warned to expect delays in the city due to lifting of the HGV ban.

    Weren't we just discussing this?

In fairness, the tyre caught fire just as it exited the tunnel. If there wasn't so much publicity in the past week or so on safety in the tunnel I doubt it would've closed

The headline on the site I took that from was "Blaze closes port tunnel". I like the OTT media.

Yea, i heard that on the radio too. Traffic was backed up a fair bit in the docks for a while after it happened, but it seems to have cleared up a bit now
