It's in County Carlow, I don't want to identify the village.

theres no point assuming all those proposed in 2008 will get planning.....

theres no way a treatment system was installed to allow nearly a 2000% increase houses....

I thought I recognised it (being from Carlow), are you sure the school only has 4 rooms?

Could a new (high capacity) system have been installed in advance.

The Village plan was done in 2006 or 2007 after the first set of new houses were built. The 16 existing houses in year 2001 are marked. This is further confirmed by the draft village plan which puts the number of houses (2006) at 89 and mentions the 62 houses built in the 4 small developments. 89 - 62 = 27. From looking at the mapping you could find about 10 houses outside the area I copied - say within 1 mile of village.

I don't see anything wrong with Village renewal, Rathoe has all the infrastructure it just needs to be expanded, i.e. school, post office and shop. Better than building any more houses in Tullow. Although I can't see any development happening for the next few years there is over a 100 houses unsold in Tullow

Planning granted for everything you see there save for the 44 houses and 3 units in top left. I looking at carlow.ie for planning apps and just taking it from that. The 64 and the 58 planning were granted on bottom right but that might be the same site with an amended application so that might bring it down the numbers by max 64.

4 classrooms I think, and there is one multi purpose room or general purpose room.

that really goes against any ethos of village life......

Probably a classic example of urban sprawl, expand an adjacent community and then fill in the gap!

    from google http://www.google.ie/search?hl=en&q=pleanala+rathtoe&meta=

one small development of 4 two storey houses which from the text overlooked an existing house was appealed. From what I know of it the two storey houses ffl are level or close to the wall plate of the existing house giving rise to overlooking issues. Permission granted and houses since built all the same.

One of the objectives of Carlow village plans is to provide for one off housing within a village setting which is a noble idea in itself. The problem is if you look at daft, most of the houses in blocks of single houses are carbon copies giving the site buyer little scope for individuality.

Exactly. It's only 3 miles to Tullow so I'm sure they can fill that gap with houses.

Most people living there must use the doctors, supermarkets, diy stores, secondary schools, garages, garda, library, take aways, restaurants... in Tullow anyway.

Yes but Tullow has got near its saturation point I don't think there is much plannig left to be got in Tullow going on the 2004 Local Area Plan

This thread is here to discuss the above which is felt is better out of the planning issues thread.

Sorry lads - I needed to clear all the above posts from the Planning Issues thread. This topic is about a full village and incorporates development plans etc and does not really fit in well in its previous location.
