Can you buy property in another country if you're not a citizen there? Then how long could you stay there for at a time?

    Interesting article here :

What what I've dug up it seems that no, you don't have to be a citizen of USA to buy property there though you could only actually stay there for as long as your visa allows you (e.g. 3 months on tourist visa).

Buying property there isn't a backdoor into getting to legally live there though:)

Yes you can. The U.S is actually one of the easiest places in the world for a non-citizen to legally purchase property. Take Florida for example where 1 in 5 purchasers is from outside of the U.S (a large number from the U.K and Ireland). The Chicago Spire, Trump Tower Chicago, The Lexington are all projects in Chicago being heavily marketed to Irish Investors. How long you can stay is down to your visa.
