    Hi,
I need to either get an extender, or just a longer cable, that looks like this:

It's to connect my laptop to this projector.

Now as you can see on the info page on the projector, it says both VGA and SVGA, so I'm not sure which this cable is, or if they use the same cable.

Would anyone know where I could get an extender for the cable in the picture and if not, where I could get a longer cable?

I also need an extender for the power lead that came with it, just a normal "Kettle" type connection at the back. I'm not sure if there are different power ratings for the cables though and which I should get for the projector, or if they are all the same? I need both cables to be around 5-10 metres.

Any advice would be appreciated :)

It's a vga cable, it looks like up to 15m ones are available in maplins. The power cables are standard, as long as it has an appropriate fuse you can use any one. Or get a cable reel if it's only for occasional use.

Or a long extenstion lead if it's for more frequent use.

VGA/SVGA just refers to the resolution of the projector. The signal will be carried by the one cable. The 15-pin d-sub referred to in the specs is a standard PC monitor cable. Just get a longer one, don't be fooling around with dongles to extend one.
Don't get a DVI cable. DVI is an all-digital connection used by newer monitors and projectors and doesn't appear to be supported by your projector.

Ok cool thanks. Yeah I have one of these with just one socket:
l94al.jpg It's a bit too long and bulky though.

    I just saw a 5M VGA cable is £29 and a 10M is £39 in Maplin???

Yeah, maplins are pretty pricey for cables, was only using for reference really. Seems like elara have quite a selection.

Aren't VGA cables the type of thing you'd find in the computer container at the recycling centre? I know I've seen them there before. hehe.

Most of them tend to be permanently attached to monitors though! Probably with bent pins and stuff too.
