I know very little about Gmail and I don't have an account on it but someone was telling that you can upload stuff via Google Docs which sounds handy. Can we access this through our MyZone pages or do you need a proper Gmail account? I keep getting this after I sign on through MyZone:

    Server error

Sorry, you've reached a login page for a domain that isn't using Google Apps. Please check the web address and try again.

I presume the answer is fairly obvious and I need to sign up to Gmail.

Yep, Google Apps is just one aspect of the Google experience that we don't have access to on the tcd.ie domain (I presume it will be sometime in the future). Sign up for a gmail account and you can use Google apps, which is particularly handy for group assignments allowing more than one editor of the doc.

Yeah, I've always found this odd, everything's hosted on google's server anyway. Why don't they treat all @tcd.ie accounts as google accounts and give us the rest of the apps. Chat, mail and calendar just don't cut it for me.
