    23 year old male,soon to be 24.
    Within the last month or so,my sex drive has totally gone.
    Ive always had an incredible hunger for sex until recently.
    My girlfriend actually said it to me last nite,she was wondering if it was her or something.
    Im not stressed from work,far from it.
    I go to the gym regularly,eat healthy.I dont over indulge on alcohol.

    Is this something i should be worried about or is it just a phase?
    I just cant understand how it can go from a 10 to a 0 in very little time.

    Are you on any medication. That might cause it.
    If not a month is a short time really. Id wait and see how long it lasts. You might find it comes back to you.
    Otherwise you might want to try new things with your gf. Like push the boundaries out a bit.

    I'd go with the GP route if there's no change in a month. Do you notice anything else physical recently? Are you overdoing it in the gym perhaps?

    Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

    Not on any meds...we push the boundaries quite a lot so no probs there... :)
    Havent been to my GP,not really sure if it could be a medical issue.
    I have been going to the gym quite alot recently,but if anything that seems to be giving me more energy.
    I just have no interest in sex,

    Are you taking protein shakes by any chance? Or any steroids?

    You should consult a GP. Dont' be embarrassed, but it could be an indication of an underlying illness and should be checked out. If its not, happy days, it only cost you 50 quid.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Libido#Libido_impairment
    Sometimes sexual desire can be impaired or reduced. Factors of reduced libido can be both psychological and physical. Loss of libido may or may not correlate with infertility.

    [edit] Psychological factors

    Reduction in libido can occur from psychological causes such as loss of privacy and/or intimacy, stress, distraction or depression. It may also derive from the presence of environmental stressors such as prolonged exposure to elevated sound levels or bright light. A comprehensive list of stressors include:

    * depression
    * stress or fatigue
    * paranoia
    * childhood sexual abuse, assault, trauma, or neglect.
    * body image issues?
    * lack of interest/attraction in partner
    * sexual performance anxiety[citation needed]

    Libido was first used in 1833 by Teresa Juncaj referring to her own life. This term was heard and spread quickly, and is now used in everyday language.

    [edit] Physical factors

    Physical factors that can affect libido are: levels of available testosterone in the bloodstream of both women and men, the effect of certain prescription medications, various lifestyle factors and, according to studies, the attractiveness and biological fitness of one's partner. [2]

    [edit] Lifestyle

    Being very underweight, severely obese,[3] or malnourished can cause a low libido due to disruptions in normal hormonal levels

    Protein shakes wouldn't cause this, they are quite simply put just protein, same as in steak or chicken or any other food with protein in it.
    And i would presume that if the OP was taking steroids that it would be the first suspect, and he wouldn't be asking here if that was the case.
    See your GP asap, no point in waiting around.

    I only asked because I know someone who overdone it on the protein shakes and couldn't keep it up then.

    More likely he overdid it in the gym after the protein shakes. If anything I've found the more meat I ate the hornier I get. Different strokes I suppose. From what I gather most cases of loss of libido in guys is mental rather than physical.

    There is a stage were a person can hit meat/protien stupor and other urges are swamped by it.
