    OP, australia seems to be booming at the moment in terms on construction. I recently went to the Down Under Expo in RDS as Im planning on going over. Engineers (especially Civil) are on what they call their 'high demand' list.

    Many agencies based in the UK may be able to sort you out for a job or at least organise interviews when you go over.

    I think techskills, based in Bray will recruit engineers in Ireland who want to go to Oz. there were a few articles in the paper a few weeks ago. The pay is supposed to be very good out there compared to the standard of living

    I got contract work through Techskills before. Their client was a complete nightmare.....two people had left the job the month before and I saw it advertised countless times for the next year.
    Techskills were of absolutly no help in that situation, I imagine they would be even less so if you ran into trouble in Austrailia.
