hey, bought a G9 on hols but i know next to nothing about photography, anyone recommend a good book or ebook to get me started? I'd like to start getting the best out of it rather than using the preset settings all the time. cheers!

while you're buying that, also buy "learning to see creatively" by the same author. Two great books.
