US nintendo DS - how to charge

hi,

i got a nintendo DS in the states. just wondering if i buy a european charger in game, should it work fine? i assume that although the input in the US is 110 and 240 here that they both output the same power/volts/current or whatever to the unit?

Dealextreme.com sell them for next to nothing. They sell usb chargers too.

Its also possible to make your own usb charger. (disclaimer: i accept no reponsiabilty for this!!) I did and it worked out great though

Get a spare usb cable and cut it. Inside there will be 4 wires. Strip about a CM or 2 off each of the black and red.

Cut the DS charger wire(now its been a while since i did it but should be ok) reveling kinda mesh around another wire. Peal back some of the mesh and strip the cable in the centre same as before.

twist the mesh and the black wire together and the other two together, tape them up indivdually so that the metal of each cant touch each other and then tape the whole thing up.

Should be working now as a charger.

i tried one of them adapters, but not all DS chargers are suitable for here, like the one I got. hence having to get another.

You could but it will fry your DS.

The DS charger supplied with a north American DS will only accept an input of 110V, best case scenario you seriously fuck up the charger worst case say goodbye to your DS.

DS chargers in Game are like €15 I think (£10 here) it will work fine, make sure it's the correct one for your DS i.e. make sure it's a charger for a DSLite if you have a DS lite (the pretty one) or a charger for a DS Phat if you have a DS Phat(the ugly original version).

america works off 110 volts, we have 220 on tap.
depends on how it charges, but i doubt it will work.

ya its strange that DS chargers dont work with both. Its crazy in this day and age!

anyways, i dont think the ds works without the battery(must try that for sure someday) you might only fry the battery.

I think there only €10 in gamestop. they work with both new and old ds too

They both work perfectly and cost little to nothing. Postage is free too. The place is in China so the free postage takes a couple of weeks.

Still though, not gonna get it cheaper than that.
