BJJ/Grappling games and drills

    Shark Attack

    Here's how it works.

Get 4-8 lads. Set the timer to 1min intervals.
One guy goes in the middle and has to roll with everyone for 1min, one after the other without any break.
To make this game work the best, the fresh person who is going into roll for the 1min period must roll with the intention of making the guy in the middle as tired as possible by constantly moving and attacking. Also when you are about to start your 1min period be sure to "attack" the guy in middle ASAP, take mount or the back straight away - no touching hands in this case.

This is a drill for the benefit of the guy in the middle and the drill works best when everyone keeps this in mind, don't roll with a slow stalling game, go in and go balls out for 1min to make the guy in the middle work & move.

This drill is very helpful for tournie training, gets you used to rolling tired and used to the sometimes frantic nature of tournament matches. This is also a great way for people to open up their games and to attack more than normal, usually the guy in the middle is tapping a lot as the rounds go on, so people tend to no to worry about "getting tapped" as much as normal.

When you are in the middle you will find yourself getting submitted by people you normally don't get close, and vise-versa you will find yourself tapping people you normally never would when they are in the middle. When done right it can be a great team exercise where everyone gets humbled!

Anyone else do this drill? Any other good bjj drills/games?

    Same idea Shark bait
One guy in the middle with small gloves, guys come at him one at a time wearing big gloves and strike, he works for takedown, once he gets it a fresh man comes in.

    MURDER!
