MMA is a hybrid of all the arts.

If you wanted to isolate one art before training in "MMA", then it doesn't matter. Muay thai, BJJ, Judo, Boxing. Any one of those would be useful.

many mma fighters came from other forms of combat sports, but now there is mma clubs all over the place so if mma is your aim i'd get into an mma club, they will do a bit of everthing usefull such as BJJ ,boxing, muay thai, and if you want to be a specialist at 1 of the above you could cross train at 1 of these arts in a specialist club..

Rush Boxing club and Rush Martial Arts head coach.

have a look on this map and see what gym is closest to you. SBG is moving from rathcoole to the longmile road so keep that in mind.
