canon 400d software

    a chairde i just bougha second hand canon 400d off the net, is there anywhere i can download the software for it online or does anyone have the disk for sale?i just want to save and sort photos off the laptop really. all the best.

    I never installed it and just work through windows really

    You don't really need the canon software (though I'm sure somebody will provide a link to download their software) picasa should get you going.

    im a total newbie now! thats good so do i just plug the camera into my pc and my pics will come up trough windows??

    It should appear as a camera in My Computer. If not just get a card reader.

    The software is handy for doing things like tethered remote shooting.

    The camera's storage card will show up in windows explorer as a removable drive, you treat the files just the same as any others after that.

    Try picasa though it is perfect for newbies.;)

    Are you shooting in RAW or JPG format ? If you're shooting in JPG, then you won't need the s/w. You might if you shoot in RAW (unless you have Photoshop or some other RAW convertor). I think Picasa [mentioned above]does a conversion from RAW to JPG too.

    For getting the pictures onto your computer, you can always get a CF card reader for your PC (don't pay more than 15/20euro for it) and you can upload the pictures - it connects via USB.

    the canon website has all the original and updated software for your camera :)

    but I agree with most of the other posters, I have never installed it ;)
