I'm a southern man, so when it comes to whiskey, it's Bourbon. Nothing wrong with Irish or Scottish Whisky, but when you're raised on Bourbon, nothing else will do. The hard part is finding it. Sure, Seamus McBeam is everywhere, and I do enjoy my share of it. However, where can a Texan go to find some variety in southwest Dub? I hear O'Briens in Dun Laoghaire is GREAT, but it's a bit of a drive for a weekday. I'll find time to visit this weekend, though.

What bourbon are you after? Since you're in Tallaght you should have a look in the Molloys there... should be some nice Woodford Reserve (I think that's what it's called... wide shallow bottle) and other such stuff.

And, of course, Celtic Whiskey on Dawson Street has a selection that'd make your Knob Creek. You shouldn't need a visa travelling from Tallaght as long as your passport's in date.

Thanks for all the help! I was jis in Malloys in Tallaght. Last time all they had was Jim Beam. This time their shelves were fully stocked. I brought home some Makers and some Turkey.

Yes, that's what I was going to say. You can also get a good selection of bourbon online. If you want to buy a few bottles, it's worthwhile going to the whiskey exchange's website. Much better selection than you'd get here.

I think this should link straight to the American whiskey pages - http://www.thewhiskyexchange.com/C-33.aspx .

I like the Blantons stuff. Very nice. Ryes are nice too.

Yeah, that Celtic Whiskey Shop on Dawson St. is legend.

Ah, if I'd have known it was the regular bourbons you were after I could have listed them off (being a Molloys employee, but not in Tallaght).

Bourbon is awesome during summer afternoons. I wouldn't drink it down the pub.

There was this bourbon/grain whiskey I got a few years ago in the duty free in Fuertaventura ( it's the only place I've ever seen it )- all I remember was that it was a green glassed bottle - lovely sipping stuff - can't for the life of me remember it's name.... any ideas.
