What time are the matches starting next Monday in Croke Park?

    How much will they cost?

How much is a ticket for a match in Croke Park in Corporate Box?

Tickets are 20 euro and are currently onsale on ticketmaster.ie and from the usual outlets. 10 euro refund for students/oaps

Not an option. You can only get into corporate box if you a)work for a company who own one or b) know someone who has access through work or other contacts and can get you in. Why would you want to be in a corporate box anyway?

If you are a member of a club give them a shout today because they are been offered 4 free tickets. Thats every club in the country.

Was going to mentionthis. Get your club secretary to call the County Officer/Secretary, and get the four free tickets. If your first to ask, then you'll get it no bother.

I cant go to these matches anymore cos of bloody work. I miss them. Always a fun day out.

I don't know the ins and outs of this but I totally disagree with this if 4 people from each club in the country can get into Croke Park for free with these tickets..Ok the GAA and county boards concerned will want to boost attendence but what about the club members of those four teams?...they have to pay? What a joke. They have to pay and somebody in say Fermanagh can get in free from Enniskillen.I fail to see the logic.

Why don't they actually try and market the thing instead of handing out freebies.I'm sure it won't be a sellout but theres a sense of unfairness here.I've no idea about the ticket allocation or how much each club is getting but you can bet your last euro they won't go for free.Absolutely disgusted at this in my opinion.

blackbelt - The 4 tickets are a thank you from Croke Pk for volunteering their time to GAA. The stadium will have plenty of seats so its no harm.

If they moved the Hurling Final to Thurles €15 a head they would make more money because more people would go to the match. Dublin is too far for the farmers.

Got offered Corporate tickets for match and was just wondering all the details before I take them. Thanks for all the info!

Aidan, Why would I not want to be in Corporate Box..

Dont know about club games but for championship matches the corperate folk spend most of the time watching it on TV from the bar. Not a great atmosphere.

I was refering to the travel times. Portumna just over an hour to Thurles. Birr is just under an hour. Both are farming towns. We are after calfing season and lambs still need looking after. Common sense says a lot won't travel to Dublin. People will stay behind in the day of the match to do the likes of milking too.

    Best comeback ever!:D

I have a feeling that my club's 4 free tickets are long gone! Will be there on the day anyway for both matches and hopefully be celebrating in the club afterwards.

And Blackbelt, €10 student price ftw!:p

OK is it Paddies day or Paddy's day? I use the latter but which is correct? Not being a D I C K, just for my own information.

It would be Paddy's day. Also the government has moved Paddy's day this year to the 15th of March so as not to interfere with Holy Week.

Jaysus - the government gets blamed for everything around here - the government hasn't moved anything - the catholic church has moved the religious festival. What day is the Public Holiday on?

    WOW!!!!!!

It never ceases to amaze me the things people get annoyed about but I have to say you win the prize. UNBELIEVABLE.

Lets just look at this again
    1) 4 people from each club who are genuine GAA people and enthusiastic followers who are willing to travel to Dublin, are going to get in free
    2) The people from the four clubs involved are getting to attend a game in Croke Park for the very fair price of €20 and have the great honour of seeing their club in a National final.

The atmosphere will be improved and basically everyone is happy. Well done to all concerned.

PS What did Fermanagh ever do to you - especially as they are in the 6 counties and won't be able to avail of the freebies unless they take a day off work:confused:

And I suppose you'd have to win a prize for most sensitive person.Fermanagh was an example.I didn't pick on Enniskillen personally or due to the fact that Fermanagh is in the North.Don't be so sensitive.

So lets see.A good few thousand people will get into Croke Park for free while somebody like myself and my other clubmates who have followed the team since the first rounds of the Dublin championship have to pay in to see our own club play in the All-Ireland Final...yeah that makes a lot of sense. If the GAA wanted more people to go then they should actually try and market the finals instead of handing out freebies to other clubs in the face of the concerned clubs fans.

I've gone to nearly every single one of Vinnies games right up from the Dublin championship until now and yet I have to pay in for the final...ridiculous.If the GAA had any sense in this matter, they'd acknowledge the clubs own fans and give them free tickets if they wanted a real atmosphere. However, they'll be forced to pay to see their club play.

Vinnies,Nemo,Portumna and Birr fans are entitled to feel a sense of injustice here.So why am I not entitled to a free ticket or why isn't anybody from the aforementioned clubs not entitled a free ticket?Afterall they have to travel as well and they put just as much if not more into the club championships as/than the freebie fans.

Where are the principles?I fork out enough on club membership and money to see Vinnies games outside of the DCB jurisdiction only to see thousands get in the final for free.If they can get in free, the concerned clubs registered members should get in free.A system fair for all.

Enjoy the game and at least you won't have to worry about the travelling costs all the way from Marino and sure you won't even have to have the dinner out. And if you are REALLY LUCKY ye wont have to worry about paying to see Vincents outside of the Dublin championship for another 30 years. FFS

Why don't you change your name to "wow how smart am I"? FFS

May I ask what club you are with?

If you have €70 cash that you don't need until Tuesday; throw it on Portumna to win the Hurling. That will pay for your ticket if you didn't get a free one :D

Blackbelt you are really making an issue of nothing. The free ticket allocation to all the clubs is just a little acknowledgement to the countless club volunteers around the country, the people who keep the show on the road. It's only a small gesture and no harm in it. It will probably boost the attendance and improve the atmosphere, even though that is not why it was done.

You have to pay the princely sum of 20 euro (with 10 euro student refund) to see your club in an All-Ireland Final. Hardly a big expense especially since you've no travelling costs either. Many gaa fans around the country would love to be in the position of seeing their local club in Croke Park on March 17th.

I do agree with you about the marketing though, or lack of it. You'd hardly know there was anything on in Croke Park next Monday. The GAA still haven't learned how to market their games at all. Not good enough for a multi-million euro organistion. The club finals is now one of the best days on the GAA calendar in my opinion, yet the bloody Leinster schools rugby final will probably get more advertising.

Have to agree with the others BB, you're making a bit of a mountain out of a molehill. It's only 4 free tickets per club and I'm sure Vinnies have gotten them too. I'm paying €170 to fly with Ryan-f*cking-air so I can be home in time for the match. Still can't wait though. You're paying €20 (€10 in my case!:p) to get into an All-Ireland final. Not only that but you get to see your own club in their biggest match since the mid 1970's. Not a hefty price to pay when you think about it. Plus, there's no scramble for tickets!;)

    Neither. It's St. Patrick's Day.
Also the government has moved Paddy's day this year to the 15th of March so as not to interfere with Holy Week.

It is the church, not the government, that have moved the religious celebration of the feast to the 15th.

As to marketing the games, we do have the club championship ads throughout the winter on TV, and I saw banners erected by the city council advertising the match today too. It usually draws a crowd. They could add more advertising, but then it would make it harder for us to get tickets.

So you have never ever used one of the former terms in the written for when referring to ST Patrick’s Day?
If you did which one would you have used?

Marse, ill give you the english schoolteachers answer ;) It would be Paddys Day as it is for one person, St Patrick, Paddies is plural so would be incorrect in this case :)

Good Luck to Portumna. I hope Jimmy Heverin has success with his last game as Portumna Manager. He has had some success with them. He will have it tougher next year with his new team:D:D:D

I'm sure nobody cares but (just in case!) the real English teacher answer is:

    Paddy's day

The plural of Paddy is Paddys not Paddies if it's a person - the old proper noun rule comes into play.

If we take it as meaning the day of all the Paddys (all we Irish) then it would be Paddys' Day.

Now what the f**k any of this has to do with great GAA games on Paddy's Day God only knows.!!!

Wins for Nemo and Portumna I reckon.

It has a lot to do with it Wow Sierra. These wonderful games that many of us will be at are on St. Patrick's Day, not Paddies Day or Paddy's Day or Paddys Day or Patricks Day or any of the other names suggested. These games being so important, it would be necessary to know when exactly they were on. You wouldn't want to show up on the wrong day, now would you?:)
