Amazon.com - Claiming out of stock books are "In Stock"

Has anyone else noticed this? It's really annoying.

I carefully choose books which are marked as "In Stock" only to end up waiting a month (or forever!) for them to be delivered as they're not in stock.

This has happened the last few times I've ordered off amazon.com.

    Annoying.

Try www.bookdepository.co.uk instead, they tend to be cheaper (with free shipping) than amazon and tell you if the book is available or not.

Yeah I only shop Amazon marketplace now. I had an order in with Amazon themselves back in Dec and it was going to take over a month for them to even ship it, let alone me receive it

I suppose it's possible that they had one or two in stock that went right before you placed the order.
