Laser surgery under general anaesthetic

Has anyone had laser eye treatment while being knocked out as opposed to valium/local anaesthetic. I imagine that this would be more appealing to people who are a bit squemish about being awake for the procedure.

Its a mute point to me as I have Amblyopia and as far as I know I can never have laser surgery as it would be too much of arisk to my one good eye

I think you can, it's just strongly advised against. And as far as I know the lazy eye cannot be corrected. I only really use the one eye myself and don't see the need for having two good eyes, apart from backup. Only having to use one contact lens is half the hassle and half the price!
