I was just wondering about this as a few people have linked to some of the Vostro machines on other threads. Do you have to prove that you are in business or can you just fire ahead and buy them as you would from the home section?

    Thanks.

You can buy them as a home user.

Yep, you can order it fine. I've bought two vostros and there have been tons of people on boards who have bought them without any problems. If they ask for a business name just put your name in that field.

Compared to the last few years the selection in the Home section seems to be a lot more limited than it used to be. There are some nice Vostro systems there that I would pick over some of the Inspirons, so it's good to know that option is there!

Thanks for the swift heads up y'all.

Tnx for this AC... I am registering now to get a vostro and got stuck with the "business details" portion of the process.

Does Dell charge the VAT at checkout or are you obliged to pay it some other way if you are not a business?

It adds the VAT as soon as you buy it. Businesses get use a tax-back system to get the VAT back.

You also don't have the ten days return period from date of delivery when you buy as a business customer.
