who in people's opinion is the best commentator and pundits on tv at the moment. With the options available to us,itv, sky, setanta, the american stuff on the internet its hard to kow who to listen.

I know many dont agree but personally i think Steve Bunce is a good laugh and worth watching.Rte have the worst of the lot and Johnny Nelson says it as he sees it and takes no prisoners.

Ian Darke(SKY) is my favourite main commentator , with Al Bernstein(Showtime) my favourite analyst commentator .

Nelson is good for an in studio analyst and although many hate him I do enjoy the commentary of Jim Watt .

McGuigan was a very good analyst before he went to ITV .

Jimmy Magee! ... No seriously, it just wouldnt be the same, so many memorable quotes.
I dont mind if the commentary isn't that analytical, even if the likes of magee and watt can be biased, usually the fights i watch i know a fair bit about from the net etc. so it doesnt bother me, they kind of set an atmosphere. For in studio though, i think its important to be knowledgable and unbiased, McGuigan was good. Like Nelson, Jim Rock calls it as it is.

Whats the deal with the setanat guys standing up:confused:

Dempsey went up in my estimation last night the way he Bunce in his place.

I really dislike guys who just tow the party line or hype fights/fighters that their station are signed with - Bunce and McGuigan

I wish Magee would be stopped from commentating on boxing - he is embrassing

The Boxing News guy Ambrams is pretty good

Claude Abrams know his shít alright. Darkey's good if just a bit too much SS OTT self promotional crap. ITV's Jim Rosenthal is a good anchor.

Rawley I think is good. In the US, I always liked Gil Clancy commentating and Al Bernstein.....

Bunce is very good because he is sooooo enthusiastic....

Darke is also a very good host...

Can anyone tell me the name of the guy describing
the KO action, 56 secs into the clip below. His voice is
ever so famous from years gone by....

I just remembered, it is Bob Sheridan commentating in the clip.
He is famous for the Rumble in the Jungle commentary

yip gotta say I do like Jim Rock - although I am slightly biased - he doesnt blindly back guys that fight out of the Breen stable (what I call the Ian Wright approach to punditry - "come off it, Ing-gur-land are gonna win mate, 4-0 mate, eaaaasy!!) and he gives a good insight and doesnt just tell us stuff we already or pander to the station and promoters.

I like Jim Rock, seems honest to me, can't stand Dowling
I actually really like Bunce, and he's the one boxing commentator i've heard being positive about mma, which shows he is secure in his love of boxing
