We are planning an extension and I want to put a solid fuel stove into it, has anyone put one in using just a flue through the wall, and is this sufficient, one builder is telling me I will need a chimney and that the flue will cause the outside wall to go black etc.... Can someone advise thanks

hi,
it is ok to put flue out through wall, it will need a bend on it and it carried up past the eaves of the house. it cannot just finish outside the wall.
it will need to be an insulated stainless steel flue, mi flues are a company based in summerhill, co. meath. they will have what you need.

Builder wants you to go with a chimney due to the money he'll lose out on. You can save by using a 316l s/s double lined, insulated external flue (or similar), I'll be installing similar if my application is successful, see this website for drgs of height requirements etc. in the uk.

Hi all,
Has anyone installed a yeoman 60hb boiler stove. Thinking of buying and installing one this summer but just wondered if anyone has any feedback on this boiler stove.
