    Hi all,
I'm currently considering doing Communication Studies at DCU. I'm just wondering if people would give me their views amd opinions on it especially people doing it. Also just say if your in 1st year communications, do u have to work with 2nd year communications students?

    thanks. :)

Hey sorry didn't see your post before now but anyway.
I'm a second year communication student and really love the course. Nice mixture of stuff: this semester, for example, we are studying Irish cinema, making a live television show, analysing advertising and studying media writing and politics. For a mix of material, it is a great course. There is probably more theory than practical stuff, just so you know, but you do get to learn editing and technical stuff to (e.g. basic web design in first year, radio / video / photography practice, photoshop and so on). Hours are great too.

Oh, and you won't be with 2nd years in first year.

If you have any more specific questions, let me know :)

Hi, if you go into the "Leaving Cert" sub-forum there's a thread called "My college course". I posted an in-depth review of Communications (I'm in first year) in the thread a few weeks ago. Best of luck :)
