    Hi All,

I dont know much about tv technology so Id appreciate it if you could help me pick out a flatscreen tv for the house.

I am willing to spend up to 2400EUR & Id like to go with someone that provides interest free credit for a year, so it works out at 200 a month - i was thinking of going with a bank loan & ordering online but that means shipping charges and paying back interest to the banks as well so really id just like to go to a shop and pick it up that day, or even go back a few days later and collect it.

I have no preference over LCD or plasma (to be honest I dont know what the difference is)

it would be used for both watching tv (ntl digital) and then youtube and hooking it up to the computer. Ive no interest in hooking it up to a games console because I dont use them. It would be plugged into the DVD player as well. id also like to be able to plug it into a mac should I decide to get one down the line.

I was in arnotts the other day and they had those bravia tv's but to be honest I didnt see much of a difference, i think those ones with the white border that changes colour are cool , but if it came down to that and viewing area id rather go with a bigger screen.

Id also like it to be HD Ready

I saw this one on the DID site & its 60", its a bit over my budget but for 60" I wouldnt mind paying the extra 400. (i dont even know if DID do interest free credit)

I dont really understand how that one can be 60" for that price and then there are 50" ones adverttised for more then that price. Id be willing to spend around 2400EUR and would like the screen size to be as big as possible, I understand resolution is a big thing also so if the screen was to be smaller then 60" the resolution would have to compnsate.

if anyone knows of any shops in the Dublin area that would have a good sized TV & the particular brand, please let me know.

Even if ya dont, thanks for reading down this far:)

    Cheers,
    John

    Size isn't everything :D

It is a matter of quality over quantity.

I mean a Ford Mondeo is larger then a Porsche 911, but I know which one I'd rather have.

Generally unless your paying over €5000, the picture quality on those 60" HD TV is fairly poor.
