Broadband in Ardclough

    Hi All,

    Anybody in Ardclough with wireless broadband, I am wondering if you are getting good service?

    What company it is you are with and who to avoid?

    Think the only option you have are ICE Broadband or Breeze from Irish Broadband. Ardhclough cant see Saggart Hill - well at least from the GAA/School. Where in Ardhclough are you?

    IBB's nearest HighSite is Celbridge - Setanta Hotel - most likely you will not have line of Sight for Wireless from there.
    Not sure where ICE is serving from.

    How's it goin? I am just out the celbridge road, just past lishandra, I don't think I would have line of site to the Setanta. So ICE would be my only alternative, hmm, haven't heard great things about them though, any experience with them yourself?

    IBB's Saggart Hill highsite uses 3.5 gear and does not need a clear L.O.S, I know of 1 or 2 IBB connections in Ardclough that are on Saggart Hill. (IBB = Irish Broadband)

    Setanta uses 5.4 gear and needs a clear L.O.S so you have an almost zero chance of getting it, distance would also be a factor for you as it only works to 4 KM.

    IBB have said that my house is not covered. The only other crowd I can find that cover my house are ICE, but I have heard pretty terrible reports of their service.

    Go to this map, drop the marker on your house and tick the Wireless ISPs option. This should give a rough idea of coverage by any local WISPs. Call them and they should be able to tell you if they actually hit your house.
