Credit Card Chargebacks

I placed an order with a company last April for some goods, and it's nearly been a year now and I haven't received anything.

I know that they're not intentionally scammers, they have a rep of being a bit on the slow side, however a year later and no goods.. well I'm tired of waiting.

I've mailed them a few times regarding my order and I know for a fact that they've read my mails and have just chosen to ignore them so at this point I'd just like to forget the whole thing and get a refund.

I paid via PayPal - obviously it's far too late to file any dispute or claim now, but would it still be possible to get a Credit Card reversal done?

Is there any time limit on how long to do a chargeback?

    It's been 11 months, nearly 12..

I just want my money back - around E300!

Why did you wait so long? Don't know of a time limit on chargebacks.

Well first of all the items I ordered were custom made products, so I knew there would be a few weeks wait for that initially, also I knew they had a reputation for being on the slow side - but everyone always got their order eventually and it would be worth the wait.

Of course I did enquire as to the status of my order many times throughout the past year and I was always given promises of dates they'd ship my order out by, all of which came and went each time..

I didn't mind waiting a few weeks, heck even months for my order, but now that it's coming up to one year.. Well I never anticipated it would be this long!!!

I think this wound is self inflicted rather than the result of some higher force at work.

There was a thread here a while ago where someone inquired about a charge back a few months after a sale was mad, and they were told that after more than a month had passed, a charge back was no longer an option. Don't know if this is the same for all card providers, or whether the person giving out this information was just wrong, but you won't know what's possible till you contact yours.

haha Savo it's Farreller. I was just testin' your restraint ;)

I would phone your credit card company up straight away although I expect them to tell you to take a hike. I would then write (as in a letter, not email) to the company asking for the item or a refund as they have taken far to long to process your order.

Lastly, I would not order from a company that takes your money on order especially if it is a custom made thing and they are known to be very very slow in processing orders.

I would have done the above after 3 months not 11

AIB allow 6 weeks after the transaction has posted to start a chargeback.

The Chargeback would be logged against Paypal. Paypal will fight tooth and nail not to have a Chargeback awarded against them. I also think you have no case against Paypal due to your own inaction. Zero chance IMO. Sorry.

Have had a quick look on aib.ie for details regarding non delivery of goods but cant find anything right now

Maybe I'm just too tired, but I have bought lots of stuff online, but the thing is, my Dad wants to buy something from abroad and he is curious as to how he is covered in the event of non delivery.

    Any advice welcome please?

Basically just is there a monetary limit on your purchase and also are you automatically covered if you do not receive the goods and AIB pay the merchant?
