Aisling Daly is fighting tonight on the Cage Rage card, headlined by the world's most dangerous man. Best of luck!

I've heard she chair shots Shamrock, handing the win to the lad with the Cage Rage tattoo.

    From redsweat.com:
Aisling Daly wins via ref stoppage in the 1st round

Well done to her, she was the heavy underdog I heard

Ground 'n' pound in 1:49 with some blood, sounds nice

Most excellent. I don't think anyone who's seen Ais in action considered her the underdog.

    So quick, congratulations.

From Jim Pages article on sherdog.com

"In the much-anticipated female fight, Aisling Daly (Pictures) showed that she is the real deal by dispatching of Aysen Berik in less than two minutes.

The pink-haired terror quickly took the fight to the floor and teed off on her overmatched opponent. A nasty flurry of punches soon left Berik damaged and in trouble, prompting her brother and cornerman Sami Berik (Pictures) to throw in the towel."

She doesn't hang around does she?

Great job. Looks like she took a few hits to the back of the head against the fence in the beginning.

Yeah, that was a great performance. Ais dominated her. Its also very good exposure for her with the fight being televised, can only lead to bigger and better things.

She should fight Ken Shamrock next.

Based on his "performance" last night, she'd take less than a minute to knock him out! :D

I'd be surprised if they did it yet, they seem to be protecting Gina a bit. She's the only female that the average EXC fan wants to see and she's the only one of their fighters who gets weekly tv coverage

dunno if she'd be ready for that, last thing you want to do is end the ride before it really heats up, she should continue doing exactly what she's already at from a marketing stance and just keep taking the big profile fights, would be nice to see her scrap with someone worth while though (no fault of hers of course)

I am creating her new website so at least she could wait till I have it finished.

Agreed. Saw her fight at the last Cage Rage here ( the one where Greg was supposed to fight for the belt ) and she weathered a tough first round and got the win.

She has an obvious mental strength that will get her through the tough times in a fight.

Delighted she picked up another good win!

As for possible future fights, i can think of far better ones out there than Gina.

I saw it mentioned on the Fight Network website before your post, so there are some people not joking about it!

When I was watching last night I thought that Aysen tapped when mounted against cage (she took a pounding and rolled, and it looked like she might have tapped the mat ) not very clear on the youtube video but its around the 43sec mark?
Anyone else notice or have clearer pictures?

In the interview herself and Aisling did later she said that she never taps and tried talking herself up. I don't think she did tap, but I did think that she sounded a bit stupid in the interview. I might be wrong, but I'm fairly sure she said something along the lines of "bring it on, I'll take anyone anytime". But the girl standing beside you just decimated you! Have some respect!

I was poking around on the net and found this video of "Aysen Berik Prepares for Battle" which I'm filing away in my brain as the new definition of "delusion".

    http://ie.youtube.com/watch?v=cse8lTMdQ7E&feature=related

Seems at least in part her training consisted of cardio-kickboxing, prancing around with a sword in the bushes behind the local Tescos, and running away from the family Alsation... poor wannabe never stood a chance.

In saying that, I don't in any way mean to detract from a stellar performance Aisling, fantastic job! Looking forward to seeing more of your fights. It should serve as a perfect example of what happens when a pretender meets the real deal.

It's just a poorly done video that one of her friends or family obviously did to hype the fight for her.

Don't be too harsh on the lass.

check out www.aisthebash.com my fight is up there for anyone who hasn't seen it, it's way better than the youtube footage! :)

    Nice site.

Is the 'Ais the bash' nickname growing on you, Aisling? I think you're stuck with it now anyway...

Could be worse- Alex Reid got stuck with 'The Reidinator'.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,448 ✭✭✭Roper

Think I remember hearing that he came up with that himself though, as a laugh, and now he's stuck with it.

I've had it for a long time already, goes way back to me bashing people in my points sparring Kenpo days when I was 10.Seems to have followed me ever since. It's cool because it rhymes. :D

i like it, too many fighters try to sound like hard bastards with words like assassin and warrior. sites quite good too but the cheesy pre fight video with the cage rage presenters...

Yeah I didn't particularly like that myself but you live and learn, never again! :o
