PayPal Account Limited

I just got an email there from PayPal (it's legit) that my account has now limited activity because over the past few weeks I have received payments which have totalled 1,000 Euro (I've had a Paypal account for around 5 years, mainly for sending money, only just recently started receiving however)

As a result they now want to investigate my account, and want me to send in proof of address, passport etc..

I've never had to do this before - just wondering if photocopies will do or if I have to send originals? I don't fancy the idea of posting off my passport..

Also, there's a number I can call, a 1980 number - is this a low/free call? Anyone know where this call centre is based?

I just want to sort this out now asap in case my acocunt ends up suspended or something for not complying.

Has anyone else had to do this?

Aaaand.. yeah, just want to reiterate, definitely not a spoof, I logged in directly to my PayPal account and there's warnings all over the place re: needing more info etc..

happened to me after xmas, yes photocopy them and then you have to fax them to paypal along with another form that has a barcode on it that you have to print out and fax.

A few days afterwards they put your account back to normal

    Update:

I just received another payment via paypal and this time instead of receiving the payment automatically I had to claim for it, I've never had to do this before - I have a business account.

Before I could claim it I was presented with this disclaimer - Nice huh?

    Balance Limit Warning

pixel.gifpixel.gif Your account balance is approaching €1,400.00 EUR. PayPal is required by law to inform you that the UK Financial Services Compensation Scheme does not apply to claims for e-money issued by PayPal.

In the unlikely event that PayPal becomes insolvent, your e-money balance may become unusable. By clicking on the checkbox below you acknowledge that you understand this warning and accept that your balance, at any time, may exceed €1,400.00 EUR. If you choose not to accept this warning, the payment will be denied.
I acknowledge that I understand and accept this warning.

Has anyone ever come across a message like this before? So basically would I be right in thinking I should get my money the hell out of PayPal asap now?!
